The Wolfpack wrestling team wrapped up the season with three wrestlers competing at the NSAA State Wrestling Tournament.
Coach Doug Jones’ team may have been small in the number of wrestlers competing (six) but they were large in terms of accomplishments.
Senior Shane Beckman led the squad in victories, posting a 34-9 record, one win better than Ryan Pelster who finished 33-11. Andrew Fangman had a 27-18 mark followed by Tyler Childers 16-18, Beau Heithoff 8-12 and Blake Schrage 3-17.
Beckman led the team in pins (25) and match points (208).
Fangman, a freshman, led the team in technical falls (three) and major decisions (three). Pelster, also a freshman, led the team in decisions (11) and team points (194.5).
Of the six wrestlers, three (Beckman, Childers and Heithoff) are seniors.
