April 3 to be ‘Da Ladies Nite Out’

Tickets will soon be on sale for the annual ‘Da Ladies Nite Out’ sponsored by the Elgin Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
The event will be held Wednesday evening, April 3, at the KC Hall.
As in past years, the event will feature dinner followed by entertainment.
This year’s guest speaker will be Jenny Herrick. A speaker, author, and clown, Herrick is “living proof that laughter is powerful medicine for the body, mind & spirit!
Herrick, RN, BAS, DTM, CLL, is a nationally known motivational humorist who inspires thousands of people to “lighten up, loosen up and laugh a lot.”
Widowed at age 27, she knows the importance of living life to the fullest. Retired from nursing, Jenny is president of a presentation and training business, “a.k.a. – All Kidding Aside,” author and professional clown.
In 2000, she traveled to China on a fun medicine delegation with Dr. Patch Adams (as a clown), which inspired her to form a hospital-based caring clowning troupe that she continues to manage today.
In 2001, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, she joined other clowns at Ground Zero in New York City to spread “mirth aid” to rescue workers. In 2003, she became Iowa’s first Certified Laughter Leader (CLL).
Locations where tickets can be purchased will be announced soon.
Mark you calendars and plan to attend!
