AMH 3D Mammography Earns High Rating

“The addition of our new 3D Tomosynthesis breast imaging this summer has been a great success,” said Rhonda Novak, BSRT (ARRT) (CT) radiology director. “We’ve received some very positive feedback from our patients as well as our radiologists and local practitioners. Plus, after only six weeks of using our GE SenoClaire Mammography Unit — we’re already seeing a decline in the number of callbacks for additional views.”
On September 1, the mammography department received a deficiency-free rating after undergoing the MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) Inspection, added Novak. This is is the highest rating a mammography department may receive. This is very exciting for our department as well as Antelope Memorial Hospital and the communities we serve. Giving our patients the highest quality of care is the most important aspect of what we do here at AMH. Early detection of breast cancer is one of our highest priorities. Antelope Memorial Hospital is planning several promotions this fall to celebrate its new SenoClaire Tomography Unit. In September, AMH is giving “Identity Guard Wallets” to all patients having a mammogram. One of these wallets contains a certificate for a free 3D mammogram which may be used on the winner’s next exam.
On October 21, we are planning a “Women’s Night Out”, Novak said. Women are invited to have their mammogram done that evening and enjoy a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. In addition, every woman who has her mammogram in October will receive a free wine glass. It’s just our way of giving back to our patients and thanking them for their continued loyalty to our department and to Antelope Memorial Hospital.
