Alvina M. Lodge, 83, of Pierce, NE., passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Faith Regional Health Services, West Campus, in Norfolk, NE.

She was born July 1, 1927, at Petersburg, NE., to Anton and Josephine (Landauer) Mescher.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Petersburg.

She attended school at Raeville and St. John’s Elementary School. She graduated from Petersburg Public School in 1945.

On September 6, 1947, she married Clifford A. Lodge at St. Cecelia’s Cathedral in Omaha, NE.

She spent many of her years as a housewife/homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pierce, NE., and also belonged to the Christian Mothers.

In 1948 they farmed in the Petersburg area till 1965 and raised their five children.  They moved to west of Pierce and farmed from 1965 to 1982.  The farmed in the Meadow Grove area until 2001. They retired to Pierce in 2001 after 50 years of farming. Alvina enjoyed playing cards and going to the Pierce Senior Center.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren

Survivors are: One daughter Pat and husband Terry Wragge of Pierce; four sons Tim and wife Brenda Lodge of Fremont, Ne; Steve Lodge and friend Barb Hanson of Petersburg, NE; Tom and wife Sue Lodge of Meadow Grove, NE; Mick and wife Pam Lodge of Plainfield, Illinois,, 15 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by:  Parents, four brothers, one sister, Daughter In law Sandra Lodge, husband Clifford passed away in May 2006,

Funeral Services were held Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pierce, NE., with Father Jerry Connealy officiating.

Casket Bearers were Tom Lodge, Brent Wragge, Rusty Lodge, Ryan Lodge, Tyson Lodge, Russ Sporleder, Mike Kraft, Travis Walker and Bob Wehrer,

Honorary Casket Bearers were  Tracy Sporleder, Lisa Kraft, Christi Lodge, Jessica Walker, Brandon Lodge, Stevie Richmond, Samantha Lodge, Scott Lodge, Brian Lodge and Jason Lodge

Interment was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Pierce, NE.
