Alma Jane Behnk

1929 – 2011

Alma Jane Behnk was born on April 21, 1929 to Frank and Anna (Drewe’s) Ollendick in Elgin, NE. Jane was baptized at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin. She graduated with the class of 1947 from St. Boniface High School. On November 21, 1951, she was united into marriage to Otto Behnk at St. Boniface Catholic Church. They celebrated 45 years of marriage. Otto passed away in 1996. She was a homemaker all her life. Jane enjoyed playing pitch, vacationing, watching westerns, her flower garden (roses), cooking, and going to St. Boniface’s Thanksgiving dinner. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Jane passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Antelope Memorial Hospital, Neligh, NE.

She is survived by her children: David Behnk of Clearwater, NE, Leroy and wife Ronda Behnk of Elgin, NE, Johnny and wife Cindy Behnk of Gulfport, MS, Judy and husband Chuck Risinger of Pierce, NE, Carol Sullivan of Norfolk, NE, and Mary and husband Ed Auger of Plainview, NE. 9 Grandchildren: Brandi Lorenzen, Daniel Risinger and wife, Kamille, James Lorenzen wife, Brandie, Ashley Sullivan, Schuyler Sullivan, Matthew Risinger, Dylan Behnk, Lydia Behnk, Garet Behnk, and 4 Great Grandchildren: Ayden Lorenzen, Emma Risinger, Luke Lorenzen, and Lily Risinger. Sisters: Arlene and husband Harold Jensen of McIntire, IA and Rose Ann Valvoda of Cresco, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Kathy Lorenzen (2004). Brothers: John Frank (Jack) Ollendick and Leonard Ollendick.

Funeral services for Alma Behnk, age 81, of Clearwater were Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. February 9, 2011 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Father James Kramper, Officiating.

Music was provided by Rita Kester, Organist and Bob Kester, Soloist.

Burial in the Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Jensen, Merlin Bolling Sr., Kenn Capler, Daniel Risinger, Matthew Risinger, and James Lorenzen. Honorary Pallbearers were Brandi Lorenzen, Ashley Sullivan, Schuyler Sullivan, Dylan Behnk, Lydia Behnk, and Garet Behnk.
