Alfred M. “Bud” Beelart, 74 of Elgin, NE, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE following a brief illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 10, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin, NE with Fr. Ross Burkhalter officiating. A private family committal service will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Alfred Marcel Beelart, son of Michael Alfred and Helen Marie (Winnepenninkx) Beelart was born April 8, 1937 on a farm near Elgin, NE. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School.
He entered the US Navy on March 14, 1956 and was honorably discharged on October 14, 1957.
Following his discharge, Bud returned to the Elgin area where he worked for various farmers. He also worked at the Elgin Lumber Company for a few years before becoming a mechanic at the Farmer’s COOP in Elgin, where he worked for over 30 years before retiring.
Bud was a member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department for 51 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and in his earlier years competed in motorcycle racing and hill climbing. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bud is survived by a brother: Joe Beelart of St. Paul, OR; four sisters: Frances, Martha, and Mary Delores Beelart, all of Elgin, NE; Joan Van Ostrand of Orchard, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Leo, Albert and Leonard Beelart; and two sisters: Marie Sabin and Mary Rita Beelart in infancy.
