On December 16, 2010 Alex Grosserode, son of Linda Grosserode and the late Randy Grosserode of Oakdale, earned the Boy Scout of America Eagle Scout Award. Alex is a member of the Neligh Troop #167.
Upon being awarded the Eagle Scout rank Alex successfully earned 35 merit badges. For his Eagle Scout project Alex painted a mural on the outdoor bathroom in the Oakdale village park. On the west wall his mural has a profile of an eagle surrounded by a circle of stars with the words “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave” above the picture. On the east wall he painted a picture of the liberty bell and above the bell are the words “Let freedom ring”.
