ACSO Taking Big Step to Deter Impaired Driving

The Antelope County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to participate in Nebraska’s annual “You Drink & Drive. You Lose.” campaign. The goal of this campaign is to reduce the fatalities and serious injuries caused by impaired drivers. Throughout Antelope County, deputies will be conducting high visibility traffic enforcement to deter impaired driving. Deputies will take a zero tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The Antelope County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the specialized enforcement from Friday, Aug. 17 through Monday, Sept. 3. Driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 and above is illegal in Nebraska.
Sheriff Bob Moore reminds everyone to plan ahead. “If you find it hard to know if you’ve had too much alcohol to drive-don’t risk it. Driving after drinking is a choice. Choose to do the right thing and the safe thing: find alternate transportation, use a designated driver, or don’t consume any amount of alcohol if you intend to or need to drive.”
Because if You Drink & Drive. You Lose.
