Wolfpack Roll Past Boyd County

BUTTE — In their final tune-up before the state football playoffs, Elgin Public-Pope John rolled past Boyd County 34 to 14.
Playing their final regular season on the road, the Wolfpack made the Spartans’ gridiron turf their own, scoring four touchdowns in the first half to take control of the game, leaving no doubt who was going to emerge as the victor.
Described by some as the “hardest hitting game of the year”, the Wolfpack made their mark by churning out one touchdown drive after another almost exclusively by rushing the football.
The Wolfpack gained 298 yards rushing in the game.
Fullback Kyle Kallhoff scored the game’s first touchdown on a two-yard run. Then, later in the first quarter, the junior added another touchdown on a three-yard run. Kallhoff rushed for 55 yards on 14 carries before leaving the game.
