Dollar $tore & More Coming To Elgin

As early as next week, Elgin could have a new retail business open on main street.
Alan Reicks, owner of Elgin Appliance & More, announced Monday morning the building which has housed his business for several years is now being turned into the new home of Dollar $tore & More.
Work has been done on the inside of the building for weeks now, removing carpet and returning to the wooden floors. On Tuesday, crews were in from a company which specializes in setting up and stocking shelves.
“Dollar $tore & More is similar to the typical dollar stores,” Reicks said, noting how it will bring more commerce to the community.
The family-owned store will be managed by Emily Fischer, he said.
It’s entirely possible the business could be open to customers sometime next week, he said.
“Customers will now have an opportunity to purchase items locally that they have gone to Neligh for (in the past),” Reicks said.
Business hours will be Monday thru Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and on Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The appliance store will move its operations to a location just north of the current site at 114 North Second Street.
“Nothing is going to change with the appliance-heating business,” he said. There will be a counter, front office and appliances on display there at the new location. “We’re not changing anything with the business,” Reicks added.
