ATKINSON — The Wolfpack volleyball team, by their play on the court, are rapidly becoming one of the best volleyball teams in the area.
EPPJ improved their record to 11-2 with victories over Plainview and Atkinson West Holt Saturday evening.
The Wolfpack defeated Plainview (3-6) by the scores of 25-18 and 25-20.
Hayley Stamp led the way for the Wolfpack with eight kills, Liz Selting and Jenna Parks each had four and Terri Seier added three.
Baylee Wemhoff led the team in set assists with nine, Parks had five and Nikki Beckman added four.
Parks led the team in ace serves with two, Selting had one.
Seier recorded three ace blocks in the match, Parks had two and Taylor Schumacher added one.
The Wolfpack had 22 digs in the match, led by Wemhoff with five. Mescher, Selting and Schumacher each had four and Schindler added three. Mescher led the team in serve receive with 18.
The toughest match of the day was against Atkinson West Holt (4-9). After winning the first game 25-13, the Wolfpack dropped the second game 25 to 22. In the decisive third game, EPPJ prevailed by the score of 25 to 20.
Wolfpack hitters accounted for 32 kills in the match, led by Parks and Selting each with nine, Seier had seven, Stamp had four and Beckman added two. Wemhoff had six set assists to lead the Wolfpack, followed by Parks with five, Schumacher had three and Beckman added one. Wemhoff had the team’s only ace serve.
The Wolfpack had seven solo blocks in the match. Stamp, Seier and Schumacher each had two, Selting added one.
Selting led the team in digs with 11, Parks had eight, Schumacher was credited with seven and Mescher had six.
Mescher led the team in serve receive with 12, Selting was the only other player in double figures with 10, Parks had nine and Schindler was credited with eight.
