It’s supposed to feel like ‘summer’ again this weekend, just in time for the 32nd annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor & Horse Plowing Bee/Rae Valley Old Threshers Reunion.
The three-day event gets underway Friday evening, Aug. 22 and will conclude Sunday afternoon, Aug. 24.
Whether you are young or young-at-heart, been there before or this will be your inaugural visit, there’s something for everyone.
This year’s festivities will get underway at approximately 5 p.m. Friday with the arrival of the tractor cade which began in Creston and finishes at Charlie’s Park.
A favorite from past years, the ‘cream can supper’ will be served at 6 p.m.
Later in the evening, at approximately 8 p.m., there will be an open barn dance and music jam session.
Saturday morning will feature an antique/consignment auction starting at 9 a.m.. Working events will get underway at 11 a.m.
At noon, the stock antique tractor pull will commence along with tractor games. The “Parade of Power” gets underway at 3:30 p.m. New this year will be the Saturday Tractor Cade (short area route) at 4:30 p.m.
For the second night in a row, beginning at 8 p.m., there will be an open barn dance/music jam session.
At dusk will be the steam engine spark show.
Sunday will be Kid’s Day. Bring your kids and grandkids for a day full of activities. The day will start with a non-denominational prayer service.
Following that there will be an antique tractor balance contest, tractor games and working events in the morning. Horse and mule plowing will begin at 12:30 p.m. The kids pedal tractor pull and antique tractor plowing will begin at 1 p.m. Later in the afternoon will be a kids money scramble, t-shirt shooter and other events.
Following the service, action will shift to a crowd favorite — the antique tractor balance contest (timed event).

Horse and mule plowing will start at 12:30 p.m. In another part of the grounds, an antique tractor plowing session will get underway at 1 p.m.
