EPS K-12 Principal Greg Wemhoff announced that the date for a school open house will be on August 18 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
“This is a chance for the students and parents to come to the school and meet and visit his or her classroom teacher and it is also opportunity for students and parents to walk around the school,” he said. “As a fairly new community member I look forward to meeting many of you at the open house.”
He said there are two major changes in curriculum this year and they will be discussed further at the Open House. “We have brought a new Language Arts series into the elementary called Adventures in Language along with a new math series called Saxon Math. We feel that both of these programs will be beneficial to the students of Elgin Elementary and will enhance their learning,” Wemhoff added.
The Schedule:
6:30 – 6:50 p.m. — meeting in the gymnasium to introduce Adventures in Language and Saxon Math to students and parents
6:50 – 7:30 p.m. — Parents and students are welcomed to tour the school, visit classrooms and have a Q and A session with their child’s classroom teacher.
