Meeting To Decide Future Of Goose Lake

The public is encouraged to attend a noon meeting next Monday, July 28 concerning Goose Lake.
When the Nebraska Game and Parks took over management at Goose Lake, speed limits on the lake were lowered to 5 mph, effectively ending any water skiing at the rural Holt County recreational spot.
Many area residents learned to ski at the lake and would like to see it re-opened to the activity for families to enjoy once again – along with fishing.
Nebraska Game and Parks Director Jim Douglas and UENRD General Manager Dennis Schueth will both be on hand to address concerns and answer questions that the public may have.
The meeting will be held at Sunny Brook Café (north of Knievel’s Store) or 1 mile west and 1/8 mile north of St. John’s Catholic Church of rural Ewing.
