Another large donation has been received for a new community sign here in Elgin.
Anne Parks, secretary of the Elgin Community Club, announced Monday night that the Richard Kalvelage Trust has awarded the club $2,500 for the purchase of a new electrical sign. The announcement was made at the February meeting of the community club.
Previously, the Elgin Community Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant. And, at their February meeting, the Elgin City Council contributed $5,000 from sales tax/economic development funds, with the stipulation that the sign remain at its current location.
Parks said a grant request has been made to the Antelope County Tourism Board.
