Wolfpack Girls Fall To CWC

ELGIN — Surrendering 56 first half points, the Wolfpack couldn’t keep pace with the Lady Renegades and lost 86 to 56 Tuesday night. Tami Jo Marcellus had 19 points and Andrea Pelster tossed in 16 to help lead the Renegades (21-2) to the victory.
CWC jumped out to a double-digit lead late in the first quarter and never looked back. A buzzer-beater by Pelster at the end of the first quarter gave CWC a 24 to 11 lead.
The only highlights for the Wolfpack were three three-point baskets, two by Nicole Beckman and one from Stephanie Bode.
A three-pointer by Baylee Wemhoff at the start of the second quarter gave the Wolfpack some hope, pulling within 10 points. CWC boosted their lead to 15 points before Bode drilled her second trey of the game. The basket was significant in that it pushed her over the 1,000-point career total as a four-year member of the Wolfpack.
