EPPJ Defeats CWC 71 to 64

ELGIN — Keep it close and the Wolfpack will find a way to win. That’s just what they did, defeating Chambers/Wheeler Central 71 to 64 in an overtime thriller Tuesday night at St. Boniface gymnasium.
Jake Eischeid scored eight of his 14 points in overtime to help propel the Wolfpack to the victory.
Tied 51-all to start overtime, Kyle Heithoff gave the Wolfpack the lead which they wouldn’t relinquish. Two free throws and a basket by Heithoff gave the Wolfpack a three-point lead, 56 to 53. A deuce by Dylan Rasmussen cut the lead to one. The Wolfpack then went on an eight to two run, fueled by five points from Eischeid, two from Regan Kerkman and one from Kyle Kallhoff to lead 64 to 57 with 1:29 left to play.
