Wolfpack Boys Extend Win Streak To Three Games

TILDEN — Regan Kerkman scored 15 points and Kyle Heithoff added 11 Tuesday night to help lead the Wolfpack to a 54 to 46 victory over Elkhorn Valley.
The Wolfpack made the Falcons’ home court their own on this night as they jumped out to an early lead, controlling both ends of the floor for much of the game. Yet, despite the edge they had in talent, they couldn’t quite put away the Falcons.
Austin Meis had eight first half points and the trio of Kerkman, Heithoff and Jake Eischeid each had seven as EPPJ jumped out to a 36 to 21 lead at halftime.
The lead grew to 45 to 26 after three quarters. Maybe the Wolfpack took their ‘foot off the gas pedal’ in the fourth quarter, maybe not, but they managed just one field goal and nine total points in the final eight minutes. At the same time, the Falcons’ Kendall Albin and Jayson Larson got hot.
The Elkhorn Valley duo combined for 18 points as the Falcons fought back to cut the Wolfpack’s lead to single digits.
With two minutes left in the game, the Falcons trailed by nine points and had a chance to cut it further, but missed opportunities spelled defeat for the Falcons.
Elkhorn Valley was led by Albin and Larson each with 16 points.
