Final Wolfpack Footbal Statistics Released

ELGIN — With just one returning starter back for the start of the season, the Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack football team knew they would face challenges in the 2013 football season.
With seven new starters on both sides of the ball and a new head coach, it was expected to be a challenging season and it was.
The team posted a 3-5 record. After an 0-4 start, the Wolfpack won three of their last four games as the team continued to improve from week to week for Coach Randy Eisenhauer.
“Overall I thought we had an up and down season that was successful. We started out the season very raw but the kids developed throughout the year and did a great job. We played some great games and other games we just did not have what it took to win. Throughout the adversity throughout the year I thought these kids did a great job of building and becoming a good team. We did not finish where we wanted to but I still believe this is a team that improved from week to week and were a very successful group of kids,” Eisenhauer said.
A review of the final season stats showed the team averaged 252 yards rushing and 97 yards passing per game.
