Gloria J. Day, 71 of Norfolk, NE passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Care Center in Norfolk. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating.  Interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Gloria Jean Day, daughter of Aloys August “Louis” and Marie “Helen” (Camp) Beelart, was born April 2, 1942 at Omaha. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church and attended school at St. Boniface Catholic School. She worked as a nanny for a cousin in Oakdale, and then worked at the bowling alley and Parr’s Café in Elgin.
On August 20, 1983, she married William Branson “Bill” Day.
The couple made their home in Norfolk, where Gloria worked in the dietary department at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Faith Regional Health Services for 23 years.
Gloria was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing cards and dominos, taking trips to the casino, was a very talented cook, and she loved her cat Sassy.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Norfolk; two sisters: Patricia (Curtiss) Callahan of Wausa; Elizabeth (Tom) Spellman of Omaha; a niece: Christina Wetton and her son Seth of McCook; and a sister-in-law: Dell Behnk of Belton, TX.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Helen Beelart; her mother-in-law: Ann Day; maternal grandparents: Arthur and Elizabeth Camp; and paternal grandparents: Epolite and Anna Beelart.
