Renegades Outlast Wolfpack 50 to 36

BARTLETT — Two questionable calls which went against the Wolfpack helped Chambers/Wheeler Central to a 50 to 36 victory Friday night.
An official’s ruling that a Wolfpack runner stepped out-of-bounds four yards short of the end zone cost the Wolfpack points in the first quarter. Then, a questionable fumble by the Wolfpack just before halftime, led to a Renegade touchdown which proved to be too much for the Wolfpack to overcome on this night.
Still, the Renegades made the plays to win the game. Quarterback Brenden Pelster and fullback Greg Olson did most of the damage for CWC as they repeatedly gashed the Wolfpack for positive yardage. Pelster and Olson combined for 234 yards rushing in the victory which boosted the Renegades’ record to 1-1.
The Wolfpack dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
The Renegades got on the scoreboard on their first possession of the game. Pelster capped a 31-yard drive with a one-yard run to notch the game’s first touchdown at the 8:23 mark.
