County, School Tax Rates Drop

With the arrival of September, that means tax subdivisions will be holding public hearings on their proposed Fiscal Year 2013-2014 budgets and tax rates.
The Antelope County Board of Supervisors will hold their annual budget hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Antelope County Courthouse. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. The hearing will be held in the Supervisors’ room.
The proposed budget calls for a personal and real property tax requirement of $3,596,301.82, down by more than $125,000 from one year ago when the tax requirement was $3,724,279.22 for all other purposes. Unused budget authority for the proposed budget is $24,290.16, compared to just under $13,000 one year ago.
