Busteed Joins District #18 School Board

Meeting Thursday night, the District #18 Board of Education filled a vacancy, then proceeded to look forward to the work necessary to improve the comfort of students and staff.
Having been approved by the board one month ago, Steve Busteed was sworn in as the newest member of the school board. A graduate of Elgin High School, Busteed will fill the position created by the resignation of Kim Wells earlier this spring. After reading the oath of office, Busteed assumed the duties of a school board member. His seat on the board will be up for election in 2014.
Altogether, five of the six positions on the school board will be up for election, two for two-year terms and three for four-year terms.
