Notice to Bidders — Antelope County

INVITATION FOR BIDS
The County of Antelope, Nebraska, will receive sealed bids until October 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Local Time, at the Office of Antelope County Clerk. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the County Board Meeting on October 9, 2012.  These bids are for furnishing labor, materials, and performing all necessary work for construction of the project entitled “516th Avenue Roadway Improvements (2012), Royal, Nebraska – Antelope County”.
The project is briefly described as follows:
Base Bid:  The project work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment for construction of 516th Avenue from Highway 20 south to a point approximately one-third of one mile.  Improvements include grading, culverts, culvert extensions, paving, pavement markings, signing, erosion control and other incidental work as described in the plans and specifications for a complete and operational system.
Alternate Bid:  The alternate bid will consist of paving and pavement markings for the portion of the project approximately 1,000 feet south of the new entrance to the Central Valley Ag facility.  The grading and erosion control for this segment will be still be included as part of the Base Bid.
Envelopes containing the bids shall be sealed and must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder’s Bond in an amount of not less than five percent of the amount bid.  The check(s) or bond(s) shall be made payable to Antelope County Treasurer, as security that the bidder(s) to whom the award(s) are made will enter into contract to build the improvements bid upon and furnish the required bonds and insurance.

Plans and specifications may be obtained from the office of the Engineer, Olsson Associates, 1111 Lincoln Mall, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508, for a nonrefundable charge of $50.00.  Unsuccessful bidders are requested to return the plans and specifications.
The Engineer is Olsson Associates and all communication relative to the work prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to Dan Carey (402-474-6311).  The Engineers address is 1111 Lincoln Mall, Suite 111, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508.
The successful bidder shall supply a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond executed by a corporate surety licensed in the State of Nebraska in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price as part of his/her contract.
Antelope County reserves the right to accept any bid which it deems most advantageous to the County, and to reject any or all bids submitted and to hold as many bids as it desires for consideration for a period of thirty (30) days after the bids are open.
