On Friday, July 13th, the Eighth Annual Antelope County Healthcare Foundation Golf Tournament was held at the Antelope Country Club near Neligh. A total of 104 golfers from area communities and businesses participated. Elgin was represented as Elgin Pharmacy had a team compete. Also, a number of Elgin area residents competed on other teams. Gold sponsors were the Bank of Elgin and Elgin Insurance Mart. Silver sponsors included the Elgin Pharmacy. Dave Sullivan and Phil Kluthe serve on the AMH Board of Trustees.
Three other persons with ties to Elgin, Janet Koinzan, Gina Moser and Samantha Stoltz, serve on the Antelope County Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors, Koinzan is vice-president.
Team winners of the tournament were – Championship Flight – First Place: Brunswick State Bank Team, Second Place: Pinnacle Bank Team and Third Place: Orchard Seed Team. First Flight – First Place: Nebraska Medical Center Team, Second Place: Merit Mechanical Team and Third Place: Orchard Community Team. Second Flight – First Place: Dr. Tom Beutler Team, Second Place: Hilltop Drug Team and Third Place: Blackburn Manufacturing Team.
The afternoon concluded with a meal of grilled Windsor loin and side dishes. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a therapy pool for the new Physical Therapy Center at Antelope Memorial Hospital and other special needs for wellness in Antelope County.
