Warren E. Siems, 81 of Elgin, NE passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Elgin, NE with Reverend Michael Davis officiating. Interment followed in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery at Elgin with military rites by American Legion Post #229 and VFW Post #5816 of Elgin. Visitation was held Thursday evening at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin, NE.

Warren Eugene Siems, the son of George and Gladys (Ward) Siems, was born on December 31, 1930 on a farm near Brunswick, NE. He moved with his family northwest of Elgin when he was two years old. He attended grade school and one year of high school at Dist. 148 (Sheldon), finishing his education at Neligh High School, graduating in 1948. Warren served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War, spending 18 months in Germany.
He was married to Bernice Verna Krueger of Norfolk, NE on June 6, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Elgin, NE. To this union, four children were born. They made their home 4 miles north and 2½ miles west of Elgin. Warren was a member of the United Methodist Church of Elgin and American Legion Post #229.
He is survived by his wife Bernice of 58 years; children: Debra Lynne Weiss (Paul) of McCool Junction, NE; Diane Kay Miller (John) of York, NE; Danny Eugene of Montana; David Jo (Sherry) of Norfolk, NE; sisters: Eleanor Godkin of Walcott, IA; Ruth Rouse of Bella Vista, AR; one brother: Larry (Cathleen) of Cherokee Village, AR; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law: Mick Rouse and Harry Godkin.
