Voter ‘Voices’ Sought at Neligh Library
May 31, 2012 by lmorgan
The Neligh Public Library is one of the locations for a unique NET News (Nebraska Public Television and Radio) election project.
Citizens in Antelope County are encouraged to participate and make their voices heard.
The project is called “Campaign Connection 2012: Voter Voices.” In partnership with the Nebraska Library Commission, they are working with libraries in communities throughout Nebraska to set-up locations for people to record “Voter Voices” videos, using web cameras and a YouTube channel.
Participants will be asked to discuss an issue that matters to them, why it’s important and what helped guide their opinion. They’re also asked to end the video with a question for candidates in the U.S. Senate race. NET will edit and present this content on multiple platforms, including radio, television, web (netNebraska.org/votervoices) and Facebook.
“Voter Voices” recording will be available at the Neligh Public Library at the following dates/times:
–Friday, June 1, 10 a.m.-noon
–Monday, June 4, 2-4 p.m.
–Thursday, June 7, 6-8 p.m.
–Friday, June 8, 10 a.m.-noon
–Monday, June 11, 2-4 p.m.
–Thursday, June 14, 6-8 p.m.
–Friday, June 15, 10 a.m.-noon
The goal is to capture the opinions and perspectives of as many people as possible from the area.
Anyone who might be interested is encouraged to stop by the Neligh Public Library and record a “Voter Voices” video; or even record your own thoughts.
More information is also on the web site for the project, netNebraska.org/votervoices.
