Funeral services for Stanley D. Price, 80, of Norfolk were held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Norfolk; burial was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, rural Clearwater. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
A long time Norfolk businessman, he passed away on Feb. 7, 2012 at his home.  He had been battling various illnesses for several years.
Stanley D. Price was born on April 9, 1931 at Amelia, NE, the son of Ernest and Mary (Nachtman) Price.  He graduated from St. Mary’s in O’Neill in 1949.  Stan entered the Army in 1952, serving in the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged in March of 1954.  On April 3, 1956 he married Catherine Alberta Schueth at St. John’s Catholic Church, rural Clearwater.  To this union 8 children were born: Terry, Tim, Tom, Vicky, Connie, Peggy, Bob, and Barb.
In 1972, Stan and Alberta purchased the Norfolk Nursery, which they owned and operated for 31 years.  They sold the nursery in 2003 and retired.  Stanley enjoyed selling and planting trees, but mostly enjoyed visiting with customers and telling jokes to everyone he met.
Stanley was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the VFW.  He enjoyed singing in the church choir and with the Just for Fun group for several years.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alberta, Norfolk; children Terry (Pat) Price and Tim (Diane) Price of Norfolk; Tom (Nancy) Price of Hickman; Connie (Michael) Bart of Woodbury, Minnesota; Peggy (Paul) Longmore of Kearney; Bob (Lori) Price of Omaha; Barb (Dave) Olson of Albion; grandchildren Amy (Jon) Siegert, Angela Price; Matt, Kelli, and Kayla Price; Eric, Craig, Kristina, and Keith Price; Elizabeth, Christopher, Catherine, and Victoria Bart; Leah and Dan Longmore; Maris and Ian Price; and Stephanie and Jacob Olson; Andrea and John Hansen; Landon and Patty Hecker; great-grandchildren Katie and Brody Hansen Omaha; Knox Newlin of Plano, Texas; one brother, Joe (Evelyn) Price of Custer, South Dakota.
Stan was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Price, his parents, grandparents, and seven brothers.
