NASB to Assist District #18 in Superintendent Search

Meeting Wednesday night the District #18 Board of Education selected a firm to help conduct a search for a new superintendent.

Earlier this month, Superintendent Steve Dennis resigned, effective at the end of June.

The school board accepted his resignation at the December regular meeting.

At that meeting, they decided to hold a special meeting to better determine what route to take to fill the position.

Meeting for under an hour last week, the board considered three options for the purpose of conducting a superintendent’s search.

They chose to go with the Nebraska Association of School Boards search service.

The NASB search service customizes the search to meet the needs of the board and community. According to information at the meeting, NASB consultants and staff will work alongside the school board to facilitate the process, advise and handle the many details. Among the services they provide will be advertising of the position on the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) website, the National School Boards Association (NSBA) website, as well as the National Affiliation of Superintendent Searchesrs (NASS) websites, the Omaha World-Herald (four week print ad and four week online ad), as well as career services including Husker Hire Link and Teach Nebraska. The service fees do not include consultant travel and lodging expenses.
