Memorial Services for Judith F. Funk age 56 of Norfolk, Ne were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. John’s Catholic Church in rural Clearwater with Father James Kramper, Officiating. Music was provided by Tom Kimes, organist and St. John’s Choir and Pat Baum. Pallbearers were Travis Funk, Nate Funk, Derek Funk, Kray Funk, Chase Funk, Chris Peterson, Paul Peterson, Michael Tiedeman, Marcus Leichner, Whitney Leichner, Emily Leichner, Riley Funk, and Sammie Funk. Honorary Pallbearers were Carol Unger, Pam Henrickson, and Sue Burtwistle.
Burial was in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visitation was 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 with a 7:30 Wake Service at Snider Memorial Funeral Home, Clearwater. Judy passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Ne.
Judith Faye Funk was born on January 17, 1955 to Edward and Rita (Baum) Funk at Neligh, Ne. She graduated with the class of 1973 from Ewing High School. After high school she received her degree from Wayne State College. She worked at Covidien in Norfolk for the past 35 years as a lab tech. Judy enjoyed bowling, golfing, baseball (Yankees), and high school sports. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her mother, Rita. Brothers and Sisters: RoseAnne and husband John Tiedeman of Omaha, NE, Marcia and husband Bryan Leichner of Omaha, Ne, Gary and wife Suz Funk of Ewing, Ne, Ed Funk of Ewing, Ne, Lois and husband Todd Peterson of Radcliff, Ky, Frank and wife Mel Funk of Ewing, Ne, Pete and wife Karen Funk, of Ewing, Ne, and Tom Funk of Ewing, Ne. 8 nieces: Tricia Whiting, Cassie Mettenbrink, Kimberly Goth, Shayla Funk, Whitney Leichner, Emily Leichner, Riley Funk and Sammie Funk. 9 nephews: Travis Funk, Nathan Funk, Derek Funk, Kray Funk, Chase Funk, Paul Peterson, Chris Peterson, Michael Tiedeman and Marcus Leichner. Great nephews: Gavin Whiting and Asher Whiting and great niece: Andee Mettenbrink. Her Special Friends: Carol Unger, Pam Henrickson, and Sue Burtwistle.
Proceeded in death by her father, Edward. Sister; Sandy and Brothers; Mark and Paul.
