Thramer, Ewing Shut Down Wolfpack

ELGIN — Size matters on a basketball court. On Friday night, Ewing had ‘it’ in 6’5” Troy Thramer who posted a double-double in leading the Tigers to a 46 to 24 victory over the EPPJ Wolfpack.

The Wolfpack had no answer for stopping Thramer on this night as he helped the Tigers build a 20 to 7 lead at halftime.

His presence at both ends of the court affected the Wolfpack adversely. Thramer had seven points in the first quarter as Ewing jumped out to a 15 to 2 lead. The only points for the Wolfpack came on a field goal by Nash Schindler coming off a steal at the 5:47 mark.

The Wolfpack wouldn’t score again till the 3:30 mark in the second quarter when Caleb Pelster came off the bench and nailed a trey from the right corner. Pelster’s basket made the score 17 to 5.
