Vehicle Damages Retaining Wall, Railing At EHS

 

Sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Friday a retaining wall at Elgin Public Schools was damaged in an automobile accident.  Elgin Police Chief Bob Moore said an investigation is underway to find the driver of the vehicle which severely damaged a retaining wall located across the street north of the high school gymnasium.

Moore said from evidence at the scene, it appears a vehicle was northbound when the driver lost control and went into the retaining wall. The impact was such that the vehicle had to have assistance from another vehicle to get off the wall.Approximately $1,500 to $2,000 damage was done.  Persons with any information regarding the accident should contact Moore.
