A pursuit involving a vehicle wanted in a gas drive off ends peacefully following a short stand-off.
Just before 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop B Headquarters-Norfolk attempted to stop a northbound 1995 Chevy pickup on Highway 14 in Antelope County. The pickup matched the description of a vehicle wanted in connection with a gas drive off in Neligh. The driver of the pickup refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit which traveled county roads south and east of Brunswick lasted approximately 15 minutes and ended when the pickup became stuck in a snow drift approximately a mile south and 1/2 mile east of Brunswick. Speeds during the pursuit reached 60 mph. Troopers were assisted in the pursuit by the Antelope and Pierce County Sheriff’s Offices.
