District #18 Approves 2010-2011 Budget Following Hearing

Meeting Wednesday night, Sept. 8, the District #18 Board of Education approved a budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year and took care of a number of other issues.

No public comments were generated during public hearings on the proposed budget and levy. Subsequently, when the issues came up on the regular meeting agenda, they were passed in short order.

Superintendent Steve Dennis said the budget was pretty much the same as had been presented at a budget workshop and published in the Elgin Review prior to the meeting.

Total personal and real property tax requirement for 2010-2011 is just over $2.4 million. The total levy is just under .780.

“This year we are in pretty good shape,” Dennis told the board.
