Grace, Trinity Lutheran Churches Receive New Vicar

Grace Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches have received their new Vicar – Andy Richard. Andy grew up in Sterling Heights, MI, a suburb of Detroit and was raised in the Lutheran church.

His parents, Gary and Christine, are still happily married after almost thirty years. Andy has one sibling, a sister Emily who is three years younger. Andy graduated from high school in 2004 and started the next school year at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. He graduated from there in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Production.

Andy studied behind-the-scenes type work: stage management, lighting design, sound design, set design, etc. In his second year of college he began to take an interest in the pastoral ministry.

After finishing his undergraduate work, Vicar Richard started at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Andy met his newly-wed wife, Renae, on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary. Renae grew up in a small town, Wauseon, Ohio (40 miles west of Toledo).

She is a graduate of the deaconess program.

Andy and Renae were married on July 10, right before coming to Nebraska to start vicarage.

In his spare time Andy enjoys playing guitar. He also likes doing graphic design and photo editing. Renae enjoys scrapbooking, reading, biking and her two parakeets, Flit and Manny.

Renae and Andy both love to cook.
