Florian Pelster, 82, of Kearney died Thursday April 22, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Graveside services were held last week at the St. Boniface Cemetery in Elgin, with Father Dan Andrews officiating. 

He was born October 21, 1927 to John & Veronica (Buddecke) Pelster in Elgin. 

On August 19,1947 he married Joy Hawks in Long Pine Nebraska.

Survivors include Beverly Walton of Kearney, John & Debra Pelster of Burwell, La Vern & Echo Plester of North Platte, Suzanne & Doug Cheeks of Midland Texas, & Karla & Jim Hehnke of Ravenna. 16 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. Sister, Lucille Jillson, sisters-in-law Alfreda Pelster, Mildred Pelster, Bessie Hawks, Marilyn Krause & brother-in-law Orland Krause. And many many nieces & nephews.

He graduated from Elgin High School in 1945. Then he received his Auctioneering degree in the fall of 1947. He also farmed, raised cattle and had a dairy, besides auctioneering. In 1979 they moved to Loup City where he was a hog buyer. They retired to Kearney in May of 1995 and to Mother Hull Home in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy, infant daughter Diane, parents; brothers Raymond, Wilfred, Maynard, La Vern, Phillip & Jerome; sisters Irene Moser, Laura Speiker, Esther & infant twins, and an infant grandson.
