Track Team Brings Home Medals from Plainview Invite

PLAINVIEW — Competing Tuesday, April 13 at the Plainview Track Invite, Elgin Public-Pope John track teams continued to show improvement. Lindsay Holy Family won the girls team title with 182 points followed by Osmond 73, Elkhorn Valley 66, Plainview 53, Newman Grove 51, Humphrey 43, Elgin Public-Pope John 28, Neligh-Oakdale 23 and Ewing 1. In the boys team race, Lindsay Holy Family won with 86 points followed by Plainview 84, Osmond 81.5, Neligh-Oakdale 64.5, Newman Grove 61, Elgin Public-Pope John 50, Ewing 45.5, Elkhorn Valley 31.5 and Humphrey 23. 

Chelsea Eischeid led the girls track team with a second place effort in the 100 meter dash, posting a time of 13.4 seconds. Connor Kinney finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.3 seconds.

For the boys, Tyler Schrage finished second in the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:17.1. Alex Dierks placed second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:36.1.
