CARD OF THANKS:

I would like to thank all my friends and relatives for all the visits, cards and flowers during my stay in Norfolk after my surgery. I would also like to thank Rev. Kuhfal for his visits and the Lutheran Ladies Aid for the food. Your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated.

The Elgin Chamber/Community Club thanks the Bob and Teresa Moore family for organizing this year’s Chili Cookoff.  A big “thank you” to the VFW Auxiliary members, Teresa Heying, Betty Getzfred, Alan and Michelle Reicks, Jenni VonBonn, Greg Tharnish and the chili “cooks” for their help serving and cleaning up. Also, thank you to the Knights of Columbus for donating the use of their hall and to Dave Hoefer for his assistance.  Special thanks to the Pope John musical performers and to the Saints and Sinners for the entertainment they provided. You can’t have a cookoff without judges – thanks to Betty Getzfred, Steve Dennis and Janet Koinzan for lending us your taste buds for the evening.  So many people helped, please accept this thank you if we didn’t mention you by name.  All was appreciated!

Legacy of Love

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,?

This is the legacy we

have from you.?

You taught us love

and how to fight,?

You gave us strength,

you gave us might.?

A stronger person would

be hard to find,?

And in your heart, you

were always kind.?

You fought for us all in

one way or another,?

Not just as a wife not

just as a mother.?

For all of us you gave your best,?

Now the time has come

for you to rest.?

So go in peace, you’ve

earned your sleep,?

Your love in our hearts,

we’ll eternally keep.

We would like to express our most sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for the food, flowers, cards, phone calls, hugs, thoughts and prayers shown to our family during this difficult time and over the past 18 months. A special thanks to our family who came to the hospital to be with us and to those who took care of things at home, especially our “cleaning elves”. Without you all, we would not be able to keep taking those steps forward.
