In honor of St. Patrick’s Day the Albion Area Arts Council will present singer Jill Anderson’s popular Irish-themed Celtic Cabaret Sunday, March 21st at 3 p.m. in the UCC/Congregational Church in Albion.
Celtic Cabaret is a musical tribute to Irish humor.
From bawdy to witty to wise, the Irish have always had a wry take on the state of their existence. Jill will share songs that tell of wild brawls, hysterical dance mishaps, comedic culture clashes and many other ludicrous subjects.
These engaging songs coupled with memorable jokes, and playful poetry as well as some of the less silly standards and ballads that Jill is known for promise an afternoon of great fun! Jill will be accompanied by Bernie and Erin Lowis who will provide fiddle, bass, piano, guitar and cello.
An accomplished singer, songwriter, actress, playwright, producer and director, Ms. Anderson co-produced the musical revue, Moonlight Melodies, and has performed at the Woodrow Wilson Theatre in the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
Jill has also appeared with Opera Omaha and at the Lied Center in Lincoln and has released 3 CDs of Irish and Scottish music.
