School Board Meets Thursday, January 14

A light agenda is on tap for the District #18 Board of Education when they hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday night, Jan. 14.

Just two items are listed for possible action.

Board members will review and consider modifying the school district’s policy on use of school facilities and equipment.

The other action item on the agenda will be to consider a requisition from the Boone County Medical Foundation to use the school gymnasium sometime in the near future.

Nine items are listed for discussion at the meeting. They are:

• Jim Fredrickson to discuss landscaping project. Several months ago, Fredrickson appeared before the board shortly after the passing of former superintendent Dr. Gayla Fredrickson in July, to ask the board to consider allowing an area on school property to be developed into a memorial garden in her honor.

Other items to be discussed are meetings update, van replacement, project updates, NDE updates, review of the 2008-2009 annual report, January board retreat, school board filing deadlines, and setting the date for the next regular meeting.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the distance learning room at the high school.
