Despite the end of regular season loss,  Crusaders of Pope John Central Catholic have once again qualified for the State Football Playoffs. The Crusaders (5-3) will play at Lawrence-Nelson on Thursday night. Kickoff will be at 5:30 p.m.

 

Volleyball Action

HUMPHREY — Elgin’s Lady Eagles gave Humphrey all they wanted Tuesday night, before dropping three sets and the match. Humphrey defeated the Lady Eagles 25-20, 25-11 and 25-20 on their home court. Thursday Match:  Behind 12 kills from Tiffany Thramer, Ewing defeated Elgin in three sets Thursday night.  The losses dropped Elgin’s record to 7-13 heading into the NVC Volleyball Tournament.

SANTEE — Pope John Central Catholic won a pair of matches Monday night at the NVC Volleyball Tournament. Pope John opened tournament play by defeating Verdigre 27-25, 20-25, 25-12 and 25-23. In their second match, Pope John defeated Niobrara 25-15, 25-19 and 25-10.
