Lucille B. Norris, 88 formerly of Bartlett, NE, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul, NE.
A celebration of life service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the Chalk Hills Community Church in Scotia, NE.
To honor Lucille’s wishes, she has been cremated. Dolce-Scheef Mortuary of Spalding, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille Bernice Norris, daughter of George Walter and Lena (Kruse) Currie, was born February 7, 1928 at Loretto, NE. She attended rural grade schools in Wheeler County, graduating from Wheeler County High School in Bartlett, NE in 1946, following three years living in the girls’ dormitory.
On September 11, 1948, Lucille married Willis A. Woodman at Grace Baptist Church in Omaha, NE. They lived in Omaha, NE, Denver, CO and Glendale, AZ where Lucille worked in various factories.
On September 28, 1972, she married Roger J. Norris in Phoenix, AZ. The couple lived in Glendale, AZ before moving to Bartlett, NE, where Lucille spent years writing the Bartlett News. Lucille was a member and held various offices in the Beaver Valley Women’s Club, TOPS, and the Bartlett Garden Club.
She was a member Park Center Congregational Church from 1936-1946 before joining the Baptist church which she attended in Omaha, Denver, Phoenix, Ericson and Scotia.
She is survived by her daughter: Janiece (Ron) Saxton of Prescott, AZ; two sons: Mark Woodman of Phoenix, AZ; Paul (Susan) Woodman of Albany, IN; one step-son: Walter (Shirley) Norris of Peoria, AZ; two grandsons: Andrew and Austin Woodman of Dunkirk, IN; one great-grandson Connor Boyce; two step-grandchildren: Randy Saxton of Tempe, AZ and Delene (Clark) Boyce of Cornville, AZ; one brother: Roger Currie of Elgin, NE; one brother-in-law Irvin Briese of Lincoln, NE; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Currie of Norfolk, NE; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Willis Woodman and Roger Norris; three brothers: Wayne, Orin and Ralph Currie: and two sisters: Irene Currie and Marion Briese.
