Raymond C. Haskin, 88 of Elgin, NE passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Seward, NE.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin.
Burial followed at West Cedar Valley Cemetery in Elgin with military rites by American Legion Post 229 and VFW Post 5816 of Elgin. Visitation was Mon-day at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin.

Raymond Charles Haskin, son of Elmer Francis and Bertha Louise (Schultz) Haskin, was born January 19, 1928 at Creighton, NE. He attended rural Dist. 21 and 24 schools in Knox county and Creighton High School. He farmed with his father for eight years before joining the US Army in January 1952 and after serving his country, was honorably discharged in December 1953.
On October 27, 1951, Ray married Rena Maxine Brandt at O’Neill, NE. Following his discharge from the Army, they lived and farmed near Royal, Verdigre, and northeast of Creighton, before moving to Antelope County in 1959.
They farmed near Oakdale and later Park Center until 1967 when Ray began driving a milk truck for the Farmers Coop for the next 16 years.
In 1983, he began driving propane truck for Ward’s in Elgin until retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his five children: Roger Haskin & wife Carol of of Lincoln; Susan Beard of Blair; Terry Haskin of Seward; Alan Haskin & wife Kim of Seward; Kay Heins & husband Robbie of Wilsey, KS; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews, other relative and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rena in 2008; sons: Tommy and Ron Haskin; grandson Logan Haskin; great-grandson Hudson Springer; four sisters and two brothers.
