EPPJ Wrestlers Bring Home Medals From Stanton

STANTON — The “Wolfpack Four” wrestling team finished eighth out of 17 teams competing Saturday at the Stanton Invitational.
Three of the four EPPJ wrestlers brought home medals from the tournament.
Senior Ryan Pelster led the medalists, finishing second in the 145-pound weight class. Teammates Logan Henn (113) and Andrew Fangman (170) finished third in their respective weight classes.
In the team competition, David City won with 267 points followed by Battle Creek with 234. The Wolfpack scored 65 points at the tournament.
Next action for the Wolfpack wrestlers will be Saturday at the Pope John Invitational to be held in the St. Boniface gymnasium.

113 pounds — Logan Henn (EPPJ) received a bye in the opening round; Henn pinned Charlie Lopez (Wakefield) in 1:37; Noah Styskal (David City) defeated Henn 8 to 5; Henn pinned Justin Noel (Scribner-Snyder) in 2:08; third place match, Henn won 8 to 0 over Dylan Swenson (Oakland-Craig)
120 — Geoffrey Carr (EPPJ) received a bye in the opening round; Trent Daro (David City) pinned Carr in 15 seconds; Carr received a bye in the next round; Gage Kment (Stanton) pinned Carr in 51 seconds
145 — Ryan Pelster (EPPJ) pinned Wyatt Uhing (Oakland-Craig) in 55 seconds; Pelster pinned Austin Duhsmann (Guardian Angels Central Catholic) in 2:00; Pelster pinned Dillon Hupp (Norfolk Catholic) in 1:52; first place match, Caleb Haskell (Madison) defeated Pelster 13 to 3
