Antique Tractor Show/Horse Plowing Bee This Weekend

The end of August means one thing — the Rae Valley Old Timers Reunion. Members gather to renew acquaintances and celebrate with the public a simpler time on the farm.
Memories will become reality again this weekend as the 33rd Annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor & Horse Plowing Bee will be held near Petersburg.
Beginning Friday evening, Aug. 28 and concluding Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30, the three-day event will attract people from near and far.
Activities get underway Friday evening with the arrival of the Tractor Cade around 5:30 p.m.
Once the cade is completed, the annual “Cream Can Supper” will begin at 6 p.m.
Evening activites will conclude with an open barn dance starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday will start with an antique auction at 9 a.m.
Working events and plowing are scheduld to get underway at 11 a.m.
Noon marks the starting time for the “Good Old Time Antique Tractor Pull” and tractor games on the grounds.
Late in the afternoon (approximately 4 p.m.), the “Parade of Power” will begin.
Evening activities will include a steam engine spark show at dusk and an open barn dance (8 p.m.).
On Sunday morning, the barn loft will be the site for a non-denominational prayer service starting at 10 a.m.
Other morning activities will feature an antique tractor balance contest (timed event) at 10:30 a.m., working events/tractor games at 11 a.m.
Carson’s Cow Tipper Clown Alley #414 will be featured from noon to 2 p.m.
