Rodeo Highlights Wheeler County Fair

First held in 1925, the Wheeler County Fair has always been an attraction which has drawn people from far and wide. This year marks the 90th annual Wheeler County Fair which will run from Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2.
Rodeo action, a steak fry, car & tractor show and a community potluck dinner are just some of the activities planned during the county fair.
MSRA/NSRA Rodeo action will be featured Friday and Saturday nights, beginning at 8 p.m.
The Fifth Annual Wheeler County Steak Feed will be Saturday evening. Steak tickets and gate admission include the rodeo, dance, 24’ water slide, sand box, train rides and bounce houses.
The Second Annual Car & Tractor Show will be held at the City Park on Saturday afternoon.
As part of Sunday’s closing day activities, there will be a community pot luck supper starting at 5 p.m.

Friday, July 31
9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. — Small Animal Check-In
10 a.m. — Small Animal Show
4 p.m. — Sheep, Swine, Beef Weigh-In
7:45 p.m. Wild Horse Race Calcutta
8 p.m. — MSRA/NSRA Rodeo, Wild Horse Races (Slack to follow)
9 p.m. — Fat Kid Productions DJ/Dance
Saturday, August 1
8 a.m. — 4-H Livestock Show
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Second Annual Car & Tractor Show at City Park
5 p.m. to 8 p.m. — Fifth Annual Wheeler Co. Steak Feed
5:30 p.m. — 4-H Scholarship, Friend of 4-H, Contest Winners Recognized
6 p.m. — 4-H Livestock Premium Auction
8 p.m. — Open Class Entry release
8 p.m. — MSRA/NSRA Rodeo, Wild Horse Races
9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. — Dance to “Shelia Greenland Band”
Sunday, August 2
1 p.m. — Sign-in for Turtle Races
2 p.m. — Turtle Races and Bingo
5 p.m. — Community Pot Luck
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — Travis Wizardry Magician
6:30 p.m. — Ranch Rodeo Calcutta followed by Ranch Rodeo
