14 & Under Softball Girls Finish Season

On July 1 Elgin played the Norfolk Impact and took a 15-1 loss, Elgin’s only hit in the game came from Kayce Kallhoff. Anna Heilhecker took the pitching loss for Elgin. She walked four and struck out four.
Elgin traveled to Creighton on July 6 and took a 14-2 loss. Calli Krebs, Paige Meis and Heather Bauer each had a single for Elgin. Ally Wemhoff pitched for Elgin striking out two and walking 14.
Final games for the season were a double header with O’ Neill on July 9. In the first game Elgin lost a close one 11-9. Hitting for Elgin were Paige Meis with two singles and two RBI’s, Heather Bauer with a single and three RBI’s, Marie Meis with a single and an RBI, Calli Krebs and Emma Kerkman each with a single and Grace Rittsher and Harlie Bode with RBI’s. Ally Wemhoff pitched for Elgin striking out two and walking eleven.
In the nightcap, Elgin won 19-16 in the extra innings. Nine of Elgins eleven  players had hits in the game. Paige Meis led Elgin hitters with a triple, a double, a single, and four RBI’s. Ally Wemhoff had a double, a single, and an RBI, Emma Kerkman had three singles and an RBI, Grace Rittscher had two singles and three RBI’s, Ally Selting had two singles and an RBI, Marie Meis had a single and an RBI, Calli Krebs had a single, and Hanna Seier and Heather Bauer each had an RBI. Emma Kerkman started pitching for Elgin, She struck out one and walked eleven. Ally Wemhoff came in to finish the game. Ally struck out three and walked nine. Elgin finished the season with a 9-7 record.
On Monday, June 29 Elgin traveled to Atkinson for a doubleheader. Elgin won both games. In the first game Elgin had twelve hits and won 16-3. Paige Meis led Elgin with two singles, a triple, and four RBI’s. Others hitting for Elgin were Grace Rittscher with three singles and an RBI, Heather Bauer with two singles and an RBI, Ally Wemhoff with a single and two RBI’s, Marie Meis and Grace Henn each with a single and an RBI, and Emma Kerkman with a single. Anna Heilhecker pitched for Elgin striking out two and walking two.
Elgin won the nightcap 10-4. Paige Meis again led Elgin in hitting, she had a single, a double and two RBI’s. Emma Kerkman had two singles and an RBI, Heather Bauer and Calli Krebs each had a single and an RBI, and Ally Wemhoff, Grace Rittscher, and Marie Meis each had a single. Ally Wemhoff got the pitching win for Elgin. She truck out four and walked one.
