Funeral services for Betty Thiele age 90 of Clearwater were held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church with Father James Kramper officiating.
Burial was at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #267 of Clearwater.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm with a 7:30 wake service at the church.
Betty passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015.

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Thiele was born on December 10, 1924 at Elgin, NE to Fred and Lucy (Tagel) Schindler. She grew up on a farm southwest of Elgin and was baptized and confirmed in the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.
She attended grade school at District #39 and St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from Elgin Public High School in 1943.
Betty then attended Wayne State College and received her normal training. She taught school in Elgin. She lived in Omaha and Kansas City where she worked office jobs. She joined the United States Navy in March 8, 1945 and served until August 8, 1946.
Betty was united in marriage to John J. Thiele on April 24, 1951 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin by her brother Fr. Frederic Schindler.
Betty was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Women’s Guild, Betty’s Club, Fr. Kramper’s Thrift Store, and was a spouse of John’s Boards.
She made white baptismal gowns for 30 years. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crossword puzzles, oil painting, sewing, cooking (making jelly, cookies and potato salad), needlework, jeopardy, reading and traveling which took her to Europe, Alaska and bus tours of U.S..
She is survived by her husband and children: Moses and wife Teresa Thiele of Omaha, NE, Betty and husband Bob Knapp of Omaha, NE, Fred and Deb Thiele of Clearwater, NE, Chuck Thiele of Lincoln, NE, Rosemary and husband Walt Patras of Tilden, NE, Patricia and husband Terry Hemenway of Orchard, NE, Ray and wife Julia Thiele of Omaha, NE, Rick and wife Kathy Thiele of Colliersville, TN, daughter in law Toni Thiele of Jefferson City, MO, sisters: Mary Jean (Snooks) Meusch and Rose Marie Schueths both of Elgin, NE.: 26 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in by her parents, son Jerome, grandson Alex, daughter in law Barb; Brothers Lambert, Max, Vincent, Fr. Frederic and Maurice in infancy.
