Henry “Hank” Schueths, 83 of Elgin, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home in Elgin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating.
Interment followed in the parish cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 229 and VFW Post 5816 of Elgin.
Huffman-Levander Funeral Home of Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Henry H.  Schueths, was born on September 16, 1931 to Henry and Elizabeth (Thiele) Schueth at Cedar Rapids.
The family moved to Superior, NE where Hank attended school until the third grade. In 1940, the family moved to Elgin where he attended and graduated from St. Boniface School. He entered the Air Force in June of 1949 and served in Japan until his discharge in 1952.
On December 28, 1953, Hank was united in marriage to Rose Marie Schindler at St. Boniface Church in Elgin. He was employed by Bennett Implement until January of 1960 when he opened his own business in Elgin. He operated Hank’s Implement Sales and Service until 1977, when he closed his shop due to ill health.
He kept his shop and all the tools, eventually started doing garden plowing and lawn installation. He loved raising a garden and fishing.
He belonged to the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years, serving as chief of the department for nine years.
He passed away on April 4, 2015.
Hank is survived by his wife Rosie and their children: Doug of Lincoln; Dave and wife Vanessa of Gering; Dan and wife Mary Kay of St. Peters, MO; Debra and husband Rick Dinges of Lincoln; and Diane Schrage of Omaha; 13 grandchildren: Katie Schueths, April Schueths, Brian Schueths, Jon Schueths, Melissa Phillips, Cory McCarville-Schueths, Joshua McCarville-Schueths, Jesse McCarville-Schueths, Nick Dinges, Erin Dinges, Greg Schrage, Jacque Herman, and Julie Schrage; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister Martha Coliannia of Denver, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Agnes and husband Bill Lattin, Dellora and husband Martin Thomas, Margaret and husband Jack McManaman; two brothers: Brother Florian SDS, and James Schueth; brother-in-law, Phil Coliannia, and a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Schueths
