County Accepts Prairie Breeze II Road Plan

Another step forward was taken in regards to the development of a new wind farm in Antelope County.
Meeting last week, the Antelope County Board of Supervisors accepted an agreement with Invenergy, owner of the new wind farm known as Prairie Breeze II, regarding county roads to be used during construction.
Invenergy, which last year completed and put into operation Prairie Breeze I wind energy farm, is expected to begin construction this spring on a wind farm north and east of Elgin which will consist of more than 40 towers.
The energy produced by the new wind farm has been purchased, as part of a 25-year agreement, by Lincoln Electric System.
As part of the agreement, Invenergy will be responsible for upkeep of the county roads and, upon conclusion of the wind farm construction, return the county roads to their existing condition prior to the start of work on the project.
Also, all road material and product brought to and or stored in Antelope County stays in Antelope County.
